Düsseldorf, 23 October 2025 – The family-owned company THE FLAG is expanding its portfolio with the acquisition of a centrally located plot in Düsseldorf. The site, measuring approximately 1,188 square meters, is located at Reichsstraße 18, in close proximity to Königsallee, the state parliament, and renowned cultural institutions such as the Städelhaus and the Kunsthaus. The transaction was facilitated by MEREA Group, acting as exclusive advisor to THE FLAG.
THE FLAG plans to construct a six-story building with an underground garage using serial timber or timber-hybrid construction methods. The development will include around 74 high-quality apartments, creating contemporary living space for students and young professionals — and addressing a gap in inner-city housing.

The new acquisition is also part of THE FLAG’s “Strategy 2030,” which carries the motto “Growing together: More us. More you. More home.” and focuses on growth in existing markets and across the segments of Student & Young Professional, Senior Living, and Hotel & Serviced Apartments.
The company is also investing in innovative concepts such as longevity programs, digitalization, and employee development.
