Topping-out ceremony for
THE FLAG Hamburg

Micro-apartments  for young professionals in  Hamburg-Winterhude

Today, the family-owned company THE FLAG celebrated the topping-out ceremony for a residential building featuring micro-apartments in Hamburg. The building, located in the Winterhude district, is primarily targeting young professionals.

Dr. Eike Muhr, Managing Director of THE FLAG, thanked all those involved in the construction for their accident-free work and for keeping the project on schedule. "Since the demolition of the cinema in May 2022, we have known that our neighbors are also excited about this new building because the previously vacant cinema did not necessarily contribute to the attractiveness of the location."

The facade of the building was carefully coordinated with the city to ensure it blends well with the surroundings. Muhr stated, "We are creating a modern five floor building that integrates harmoniously into the existing urban landscape. It has always been important to us that the building is not only functional but also aesthetically appealing and suits Winterhude well." The architectural design was provided by Störmer Murphy and Partners, while K2B architects later handled the detailed planning. The construction is being supervised by the general contractor, Oevermann.

The new residential building at Barmbeker Str. 79 offers compact, modernly designed micro-apartments for young professionals who want to work and live in the urban environment of Hamburg-Winterhude. A total of 38 micro-apartments ranging in size from 21 sqm to 60 sqm will be available, resulting in a total living space of around 1,450 sqm. All apartments feature parquet flooring, fully equipped kitchens, and built-in wardrobes. A smaller commercial unit is planned for the ground floor.

Future residents will reach the nearest subway station in 4 minutes, the city park in 6 minutes, and the Mühlenkamp trendy neighborhood in just over 10 minutes. The building is expected to be completed in December 2023, with leasing scheduled to start in late summer 2023.
